URPoint Details
St Saviour’s Church, (Churches Conservation Trust), was built in 1848 for those who could not afford pew rents at the parish church, but by the 1880's all seats in St Mary's were declared free and one of St Saviour's reasons for being there was removed. Constructed of local stone and Cotswold slate, it was designed by a local architect Samual Dawkes, assisted by A W Pugin and John Hardman. Together they created a very fine example of High Church architecture, displaying craftsmanship of equally high quality. Grade II* listed building
