Taynton - Church of St John the Evangelist

The Church of St John the Evangelist dates from about 1450, but many of the architectural features are in the earlier Decorated style. The clerestory and south aisle windows are of the Perpendicular period as is the unusually high tower. The church contains a wonderful collection of stone portraiture, and the sculptured heads are fascinating examples of the work of 15th century masons.

The church is a Grade II* listed building
