Situated by the River Wharfe, with a fine 15th century church, with an embattled tower.
There is a picturesque old timbered house known as Noah’s Ark stands in Kirkgate.
To the southwest is Hazelwood Castle which retains a late 13th century Hall and an early 14th century chapel.
