Pronounced Takolston has a delightful medieval church with pine trees, ancient gravestones and a moat on a bend in the road opposite the Old Hall. In the churchyard is a unique headstone to the memory of Mildred wife of John Archer, departed this life aged 48 years dated 173½?. Very interesting and well worth a visit.
The hill leading down to the Manor is surrounded by beautiful trees where the green has thatched cottages, and the Pelican Inn dates back to the late 1600's.
