The old village, a Conservation Area comprises about 30 houses. The Horseshoe Cottages and the Old School the village was rebuilt in the mid-19th century by Lady Overstone.
The parish Church of St Peter and St Paul occupies a central position with the village green spread out before it.
A small airfield with a grass runway was opened in the 1920s: used extensively for business, training, helicopter and private flying, Sywell County Park, located around Sywell Reservoir is a popular walking and leisure venue.
