URPoint Details
St Leonard's Church has a unique heptagonal 16th century Jewel Porch, named after John Jewel who was rector c1551. It is a delightful structure with Gothic windows and Ionic columns. Otherwise the church is mainly Perpendicular. The east window was designed by J P Seddon in 1877, and is reflective of the work of William Morris and the Pre-Raphaelites. See the outsize poppyheads on the bench ends.
The church is a Grade II* listed building
