An interpretation of the social and industrial history of communities in the west of Scotland in the 19th century and early 20th century, the exhibition features historic machinery in daily operation, and social history with period shop interiors.
Outside, you can see the excavation of the 1835 iron works and ride on Scotland’s only working electric tramway.
You can also tour a reconstructed drift mine and miners’ rows with period domestic interiors.
