URPoint Details
The village has never comprised more than 20 families.
In 1736 Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, bought the village and it passed to the Spencers in 1744. Two centuries later it was sold to the present owner, the Duchy of Lancaster. The church, dedicated to St Romwald, dates from about 1200.
Church and Manor Farms contain some buildings from the 17th century, but all the cottages were constructed last century.
