URPoint Details

A busy village laid out by the River Ugie, by Lord Strichen of Session in 1776 to provide better housing and employment to his tenants. The little stream crossed by several bridges flows along one side of the village.

Mormond Hill at 769ft is a notable landmark in the flat and generally treeless region.

On its slopes are the white cut-out figures of a horse of 1700 and a stag of 1870.
