Stretton-en-le-Field - Church of St Michael
Rectory Lane, Stretton-en-le-Field DE12 8AF, England
URPoint Details
The slender spire of St Michael’s Church, (Churches Conservation Trust), can be seen above the trees, in rolling wooded country where the boundaries of four counties meet. With 18th century box-pews and other fittings, has no Victorian restoration, it is an uncommon survival of a medieval church where time has stood still. There are good bosses in the medieval roof and a fine alabaster slab to a rector, Walter Savage (d1518).
