A small resort on the Blane Water is situated at the foot of the Strathblane hills and the Campsie Fells in which Earl’s Seat rises to 1,896ft.
About a mile to the east on the Ballagan Burn are the falls of ‘The Spout of Ballahan’.
A couple of miles northwest on the Killearn road stands the partly 15th century Dunreath Castle in which the medieval stocks and dungeons are preserved.
