One piece of magic that never fails to cast a spell over the traveller is the awe-inspiring site of this famous prehistoric monument as one crosses the Salisbury Plain.
Started 5,000 years ago, we can only really apply supposition and guess-work to interpret the reasons for its existence, but we do know that the prehistoric builders went to incredible lengths to construct such a monument.
