Close to Aylesbury on the road to Thame, Stone is an extensive village and the site of St. John's Hospital a spreading group of buildings whose earliest parts date from 1853.
Stone Church is largely of the 13th and 14th centuries although the saddle‑back roof of the tower is Victorian. Of great interest is the superbly carved cylindrical Norman font.
