Lower Stondon was a hamlet of Shillington parish until 1985, when Upper Stondon joined Lower Stondon to become the parish of Stondon.
The church of All Saints dates back to 1857, replacing an earlier Norman building dated 1150 and the rectory stood across the road.
A 10 mile road race which attracts competitors from far and wide called the Stondon Day and Stomp held every September.
