The Church of St Michael dates from about 1150 and is a splendid example of Norman architecture, almost unaltered during eight centuries, with its massive central tower to the fine west door with its blank side arches - an imposing sight both inside and out. It has a beautifully carved tympanum and the zigzag course runs right round the church.
