Stapleford - Church of St Mary Magdalene (Leicestershire)
Stapleford Park, Stapleford LE14 2EF, England
URPoint Details
Access to St Mary Magdalene’s Church is through the Stapleford Park entrance.
In a delightful setting in the wooded grounds of Stapleford Park Hotel, the St Mary Magdalene’s Church was built like Saxby and Teigh for the Earl of Harborough in 1783.
This church is outstanding in the Gothic field for its date, and preserves all its original features including pews placed 'college-fashion'.
There are sumptuous monuments of great artistic value either side of the alter.
Altogether a delightful interior with a west gallery containing a fire place for the Earl and his retinue.
