Situated in extensive woodlands to the south of Corby, Stanion, whose apt name means 'built of stone', possesses a fine 13th century spired church containing a triple-decked pulpit. Unusual features include a 15th century wall painting of a stag and a unicorn, and a huge bone known as Dun Cow's Rib.
St Peter's Church spire has commanded the district for over 700 years.
