URPoint Details
Church of St Giles dates from the 13th century with an octagonal tower and spire standing beside the Windrush. During the 14th century the aisle windows were protected by 'pitchfork stanchions' which were to protect the glass. A major restoration took place in 1876 by the Rev's Lewis Tucwell, the rector, who was a musician and the choir angels reflect his love of choral music. It was this restoration that saved the building. The spire has a fine peal of six bells.
