URPoint Details
Known for its famous gloves, the town also serves the rural farmers of Blackmoor Vale. Its centre is old cream-grey stone buildings and has one of the finest crosses in Dorset. The cross stands 30ft tall, is 14th century and sculptured brown-gold.
The church up a steep lane was rebuilt in 1878 and has a nice north chapel and contains the effigy of a woman.
