St Ninian’s Chapel, (HES), Tynet, on the A98, 5km east.
Open all year, dawn to dusk. Mass at 5.30pm on Saturday. Free admission; picnic area; car park; disabled access.
Built in 1755 by the Laird of Tynet, ostensibly as a sheepcote, but secretly as a Catholic chapel (extensively altered since) and is still in use.
The Church is 121 ft. long by 20ft. wide externally, with an internal width of loft. 3 ins. The ceiling height is only 13ft. 3ins.
