St James's Lochs - Laurencekirk

Laurencekirk AB30 1NB, Scotland

URPoint Details

A pair of lochans nestling within the summits known as the Hill of Garvock, 2 miles (3 km) east of Laurencekirk in Aberdeenshire.

Erroneously labelled as St. Jame's Lochs on recent editions of the Ordnance Survey Landranger map (2001-08), the more northerly of the pair casts off a stream to the northwest which becomes a head stream of the Luther Water, while the other is the source of the St James's Burn, which becomes the Finella Burn.
