Disabled parking 20m from entrance disabled visitors may be set down immediately outside the entrance. Abbey remains are accessible, via concrete path, flagstones, gravel and smooth grass steps down into crypt, which can be viewed well from above bench provided toilets.
Founded in 598, this was one of the earliest monastic sites in Southern England. Here you will find remarkable remains of the foundations of the original 6th century churches, the Norman church and medieval monastery.
