The oldest University in Scotland founded in 1412.
The Colleges of St Salvator and St Leonard were founded in 1455 and 1512 and combined in 1747 are famous for the Church of Salvator the College Church.
The church dates from the 15th century and has a tall tower with an octagonal broach spire.
St Mary's College was founded in 1537 by Cardinal Beaton, preserves a quadrangle between the older buildings and the torn tree planted by Mary, Queen of Scots still flourishes.
