Disabled car parking at the lighthouse car park is a viewpoint for the disabled. Access to cliff path unsuitable for wheelchairs or the less able. No vehicles allowed on the road to the lighthouse. Park beside Nature Reserve Centre in Northfield Farm steading. Exhibition tearoom and toilets.  Viewpoint on Harelaw Hill.  Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Fine views of the coastline are obtainable from a car on the road

St Abb's Head National Nature Reserve, is a spectacular headland of 192 acres, with 300ft cliffs. The most important location for cliff-nesting seabirds in SE Scotland, with colonies of guillemots, razorbills, shags, fulmars, puffins and herring gulls St Abb's Head was declared a National Nature Reserve in 1983. The offshore waters are part of Scotland's first voluntary marine nature reserve, which was declared in 1984. Lumsdaine Farm coastal strip of 167 acres of cliff and foreshore donated by Pearl Assurance is part of the same Site of Special Scientific Interest as St Abb's Head. Blackports grazing block of 123 acres recently purchased to alleviate grazing pressure on the clifftop during summer.
