URPoint Details
A village in Glen Spean whose bridge, built by Thomas Telford in 1819, spans the turbulent River Spean as it flows westwards to Loch Lochy and the woody shores of Loch Laggan.
There is an impressive and moving Commando Memorial from 1950.
To the southwest the road to Fort William crosses a moorland ridge with magnificent views of the Grey Corries rising to 3,858ft, Aonach Mor at 3,999ft and the great northern corries of the distant Ben Nevis at 4,406ft with snow sometimes from June onward.
