URPoint Details
Tudor cottages, shops and a church that has vicars dating back to 1080, make up this charming village.
In the church walls lies the effigy of a curly-headed knight resplendent in chain mail, brought here after it was discovered by workmen digging a pit for a petrol storage tank.
There are two curious carved figures on a bridge over the River Parrett on Fosse Way (A303) near its junction with A3088. It is said to commemorate either two children drowned in the river or the founder and his wife.
