A small and pleasant village where the Parish Church of St. Bartholomew is brick-built and dates from the Georgian period.
Snarestone is the terminal of the Ashby canal and has a 'winding hole' for long vessels, slipway and mooring facilities.
There is a Victorian pumping station which supplies water to Hinckley and contains steam machinery.
