URPoint Details
A village founded by the West Saxons built their buildings of flint and brick.
The parish church is also built of flint and dates from the 11th century and has a wooden effigy of a reclining Tudor knight, 5ft long and dressed in armour, and is the only one of its kind in Sussex.
There are splendid views southwards to the sea, and northwards to woods, valleys and the Downs.
