Rolling green pastures and bracken and heather heights almost surround this pretty village on the River Hodder in the heart of Bowland.
The village pavements are cobbled and many of the cottages and houses are of grey stone.
The old church has an 18th century three decker pulpit.
Gisburn Forest has a wonderful mix of coniferous trees and slopes down to the Stocks Reservoir, which is an excellent bird watching area.
