Sir Arthur Charles Clarke, CBE. FRAS was born in Blenheim Rd, Minehead on 16 December 1917 is well known for his 2001 Space Odyssey written in 1968,was a British science fiction author, inventor, and famous for his short stories and novels, He was awarded the highest honour in Sri Lanka the Sri Lankabhimanva. He retired to Sri Lankha where he died on 19 March 2008.
