URPoint Details
The footpath opposite the inn follows the river into the heart of the moor. Across the bridge is a memorial to Sir John Fortescue a historian and librarian at Windsor Castle.
The Chains, 3m northwest is the second highest point of 1599ft on Exmoor. A further 2½ miles northwest is the prehistoric remains of Chapman Barrows.
