URPoint Details
A Danish word ‘hoh’ in Sifels Hoh, means Sifel’s Hill gave the village its name and it is the Danes who were thought to have been the earliest settlers.
No village would be complete without its ghost and Sisloe is no exception.
A beautiful grey lady walks the present George Hotel, once a house attached to Wrest Park, and in Silsoe House nearby, the ghost of a small fair haired girl has been seen several times looking for her adored nurse who was dismissed and for whom the child pined and died.
