Shute Barton, (NT) - Shute

One of the most important surviving non-fortified manor houses of the Middle Ages. Commenced in 1380 and completed in the late 16th century, it was then partly demolished in the late 18th century. The house has battlemented turrets, late Gothic windows and a Tudor gatehouse.
