URPoint Details
A little crofting and fishing village situated on Loch Shieldaig an inlet of Loch Torridon with the great sandstone peaks of Torridon and Ben Alligin at 3,232ft and Beinn Dearg at 2,995ft and finest of all Liathach at 3,456ft.
Although Torridon is a few miles away at the head of the loch there is no driving road, and the track that passes the beautiful Falls of Balgy is only for walkers.
The road leading southeast towards Tornapress climbs to over 400ft before descending to Loch Coultrie with lovely views of Coir Each and Coire na Poite two of the wild corries of Beinn Bhan at 2,936ft the highest of the Applecross hills.
