URPoint Details
The romantic Silent Pool, in a lonely setting, a mile west of this charming North Downs village. Legend says that a peasant girl drowned after being frightened by King John while bathing there. It is widely believed to be haunted.
The church is Norman and Early English and its Norman tower has a fine shingle spire.
