Seton Castle (not open to the Public) replaced the once magnificent Seton Palace by Robert Adam in 1790, Mary, Queen of Scots is associated with Seton having been here in 1566 with Darnley after the murder of Rizzio and again in 1567 with Bothwell after the murder of Darnley.
In the grounds is the late 14th century unfinished Collegiate Church noted for its fine vaulted chancel and apse with good window tracery. There are also some splendid tombs and a good example of a piscina.
