There is a wheelchair lift giving access for self-propelled wheelchairs into the Palace to view the rooms, which is accessed via the Gift Shop. Unfortunately, cannot accommodate motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters into the Palace State Rooms. Whilst many parts of the Gardens are accessible to wheelchair users, some areas are unsuitable for wheelchairs.
A castellated imposing palace, with magnificent grounds and is another breathtaking site in the region.
The Palace also has an historic claim to fame, as it was here that the Stone of Destiny was stolen in 1296 and taken by the English to lie in Westminster.
In 1997 he Stone was returned and now lies in Edinburgh Castle.
