Located in a fine 18th century tollbooth, it tells the story of Upper Nithsdale, and features the world famous Sanquhar knitting, mines and miners of Sanquhar and Kirkconnel.
It also depicts the history and customs of the Royal Burgh, three centuries of local literature, life in the local jail, the earliest inhabitants and the people of Upper Nithsdale at home and work.
