URPoint Details
One of the earliest places in the county where market gardening was recorded. Sandy Warren is home to the RSPB Lodge, headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
Examples of the remains of ancient camps in the town, including the British Caesa's Camp and the Roman Galley Hill, leave little doubt that a strong Roman settlement existed in this area where many artefacts have been discovered.
