URPoint Details
The village is quite unusual as it is one village divided into two halves – East and West.
There is evidence of early village life in various archaeological finds, particularly at Woman Hithe at West Runton and in the pits and holes around the ‘Roman Camp’ where iron oxide was dug up and smelted.
The flint and brick church of the Holy Trinity in West Runton dates from pre-Norman times.
