A charming with pretty houses and gardens set at the south end of the lovely woods bordering Rudyard Reservoir. Rudyard Kipling the novelist and poet was named after the village since it was here that his parents became engaged in the 1860’s
The reservoir was built to supply water to the Trent and Mersey Canal.
There are many delightful walks along the edge of the reservoir and leading to fascinating caves and curious rock formations and Roman copper workings.
