URPoint Details
A charming village near the River Teviot once an important royal burgh where the ruins of an old palace can be seen standing at Marchmound two miles northeast of the village.
Higher up the river are the Covenanters' Caves.The old county of Roxburghshire is almost on the English border and has some excellent fishing in the River Teviot and climbing either Auchopecairn at 2,382ft or the Eildon Hills at 1,385ft.
