The Chapel dating from 1446 has unique carving throughout, legendary Apprentice Pillar, many references to Freemasonry and the Knights Templar and is the only medieval church in Scotland used by the Scottish Episcopal Church.
Founded by William Sinclair later Earl of Caithness it was intended to become a Collegiate Church, but only the choir was built and becoming the burial place for the Sinclairs. There is a vaulted Lady Chapel only 15ft high and also a crypt possibly once used as the chapel.
The exterior of the chapel has flying buttresses and finely carved pinnacles.
