A pretty fishing village where the cave of Cowshaven was the last hiding place of the last Lord Pitsligo, after he was outlawed for his part of the Jacobite Rising of 1745.
Pitsligo Church, 8 miles southwest of Rosehearty is noted for its richly carved gallery.
Ideal fishing here for salmon sea and brown trout in the Rivers Rathen and Philnorth and in the lochs Strathbeg and Fedderate.
