URPoint Details
Nestling in the bottom of a wide chalkland valley, excavated in 1943, this villa was revealed as one of the largest Roman villas in the country. The Museum contains many of the fascinating finds recovered from the site, including elaborate iron work, jewellery and pottery. It has been largely backfilled to preserve the walls, but rooms containing mosaics and one with a hypocaust are open to public view.
