Robert Boyle was born 25 January 1627 in Lismore. Having an inquisitive mind he studied science Eton then studiyed on the Continent.

‘The Spring and Weight of the Air’ was published in 1660. In 1661 his best know publication ‘The Sceptical Hymist’ was released. The second edition of ‘The Spring and The Air’ was released in 1662.
Every chemistry student is familiar with Boyle’s law.

Robert Boyle died in London on 30 December 1691. He was buried in the Church of St-Martin-in-the-Field, next to his sister, but the church was demolished and no record was made as to where his remains are now buried.
