A triangular green in the centre of the village with some lovely buildings including the part-Elizabethan church, Fisher House is Georgian and Rivington Hall reached by a long avenue of beech trees is a Georgian mansion.
Situated at the foot of Winter Hill, and above the village is Rivington Pike rising to 1,190ft with a stone tower dating from 1733.
