URPoint Details
Three cheeses are blessed at the church and garlanded with flowers in May each year. One is eaten while the other two are rolled down a slope to open the annual fair. The villagers are led by a ‘Mop Man’ wielding a wet mop to clear the crowds. A Mayor and his queen are carried shoulder high and the procession ends with the dunking of the mayor in the village pond.
