Ramsgate became a fashionable resort after King George IV spent a season here in 1827.
Although Pegwell Bay is the terminal for the hovercraft which takes many thousands of passengers to the Continent, Ramsgate has been a busy seaport since the Roman times.
Most of the buildings date from the 19th century and Queen’s Court is 17th century.
