Radley , England

URPoint Details

The village beside the River Thames has some pretty timber-framed houses and an attractive old rectory was once a hunting estate for the monks of Abingdon.
The church is mainly Perpendicular as is the pulpit and the stalls are 17th century. There is some interesting heraldic and other 16th century glass, a Norman font.

At the Dissolution the estate passed to the Lord Seymour who married Catherine Parr, widow of Henry VIII and after his execution, went to Mary Tudor.
